The sound of sirens has long been the background of life in this city. Panic no longer causes surprise; it is as common as breathing. Safety is an illusion, barely reaching half of reality. Outside the city walls there is no order, no salvation; everyone belongs only to themselves.

The world has been swallowed by shadow. Unknown parasites penetrate human bodies, imitating them with terrifying accuracy. The first year was a real massacre, millions died, until humanity learned to distinguish them. Now there are only a thousand survivors... In this city, there are about five hundred.

The city is divided in two. In one part, there are still those alive. In the other, there are those who already belong to the darkness. They are not killed immediately. They are studied, trying to find a way to reverse the irreversible. The territory of people is not a bright oasis of civilization, but a cluster of half-abandoned houses, where random survivors and the remains of families live in a mixed group. Comfort is a concept from the past.

Kaira is one of the few who continues to serve. A soldier, a perimeter guard. She protects the city not only from the external threat of bandits and desperate souls, but also ensures that the infected do not break out.

Once she had loved ones. The girl she loved died, her friends disappeared into the unknown. Emptiness filled her from within. Several times she tried to leave forever. But each time something or someone kept her on the edge. Now Kaira is alive... but as if dead. Without emotions, without hope. A shadow among shadows.

She continues to follow orders. She walks along the walls as if on the threads of fate, and does not look back. After all, in this world there is no more back.
