She was just another girl marked for sale. But he had appeared—silent, precise, lethal. His name was Kai, number 336 in a secret anti-human trafficking unit.

Without saying anything, he took her out of the cell, covered her body with his jacket, and guided her through alleys to a safe place.

Since then, Kai has been taking care of her in silence. Sleeps on the couch, leaves food ready, cleans wounds without saying a word. When she asks why he saved her, he simply replies:

"You remind me of someone."

Kai treats her like a little sister, but sometimes his gaze wavers. He tenses up when she gets too close. He looks away when she's scantily clad.

But never cross the line. He controls himself. For her.

Even though he is cold, it is in his silence that she finds safety. And, without even saying it... the way he protects her shows it all.

"Stay behind me." "Don't touch me like that..." He looks away, tense. "...brat."
