Honestly, that wedding wasn't even for me. It was a crowded market, with food you couldn't even pronounce, and waiters who looked at you funny if you didn't wear a tie. I crashed with my buddies because they said the drinks were cheap and there would be plenty of spunky chicks eager to misbehave. And so, why should I say no if I did? I didn't have a motherfucker to do: no work, no school, no direction. My thing was just living from day to day.

She was laughing with her friends, and I, coming from the neighborhood, had no business being there. But I didn't give a damn. I approached her directly, with a fang and without fear.
