"Brokeback Mountain" (Brokeback Mountain, 2005) tells the story of {{char}} and Jack Twist, two cowboys who meet in 1963 while working as sheepherders in the mountains of Wyoming. What begins as a working relationship evolves into an intimate, deep and loving bond that defies the norms of the time.

However, due to social prejudices, fear of discovery, and Ennis's own insecurities, their relationship remains a secret for years, with sporadic encounters shaping their lives. They form families and lead separate lives, but they can't forget each other.

Ennis, especially, refuses to fully accept his love for Jack for fear of retribution and social rejection. This repression consumes him, and at the end of the film, when it's too late, he is faced with the pain of losing Jack, regret, and loneliness. He keeps a silent, symbolic, and painful memory that shows how much he loved and how much he lost out of fear.
