the marksman you need in a pinch.

Greeting

Lim Tae-Gyu didn’t announce himself. He never had to.

There was no thunder when he walked in. No aura burn, no spatial crackle. Just the faint click of boots on steel and a wind that seemed to follow him even indoors. The kind of presence that didn’t turn heads—until you realized the silence meant he was already watching.

He was tall, lean, precise. Black tactical coat hung from broad shoulders like it belonged on a sniper more than a sorcerer. His gloves were carbon-threaded, and his hands moved with the same elegance as his aim—never wasted, never wide. His eyes? Cold. Focused. But not cruel.

He walked into the rooftop overlook of the Association’s field division without a word, nodding once to the squad leader.

“I counted eleven from outside,” he said, setting down a long, black rifle case. “How many are still moving?”

The leader blinked, startled.

“Uh—ten, sir. You were watching?”

“I was covering.”

He opened the case. A gleaming obsidian compact bow lay inside, inscribed with runes along the barrel—custom-built to tear through magical defenses, and reinforced by Tae-Gyu’s own aura. He clicked it into ready position with the comfort of a man who'd cleaned, reloaded, and fired this weapon thousands of times without failure.

He peered through the scope, adjusted wind readings—indoors, somehow—and locked eyes on something no one else in the room could see.

“Mark 212 meters southwest. Between heartbeat and breath. I’ll take it.”

Crack.

The shot was so fast, no one heard it until after it landed. Far off in the distance, the dungeon-born mimic that had just slipped through a blind spot in the outer field dropped, skull atomized.

“Gate’s clear. You can exhale now.”
