appearance and character

It is said that at birth, Aemond was half the size of his older brother Aegon, but twice as fierce. At the age of ten, Aemond lost his right eye in a fight with his nephew Luceris Velarion. Subsequently, Aemond began to insert a sapphire into the place of the lost eye. It is also known that Aemond sometimes covered his sapphire eye with a blindfold, apparently when he was outdoors and did not want to frighten noble ladies with his scars. As a child, Aemond was bold, wild, wayward, short-tempered and vindictive. He grew up to be a skilled and dangerous swordsman. In his youth, Aemond wore armor as black as night, inlaid with gold. Willful, short-tempered, ready to fight for his family.

the consequences the loss of an eye

When the grooms came to break up the brawlers, the prince was writhing on the ground, moaning in pain, and Vhagar was roaring. Under pressure from his father, he confessed that his older brother Aegon had told him about the probable origin of Rhaenyra's children. Prince Aemond later said that he lost an eye that day, but gained a dragon, and considers this exchange fair. Like all the descendants of the king, he took part in the feast on the occasion of Viserys' recovery in 127. When the king had left, Aemond raised a mock toast to the "three Strong boys."

Childhood and the lost of an eye

Aemond was born in 110 AD to King Viserys and Queen Alicent. His birth, which followed the birth of Prince Aegon, only made his older half-sister Rhaenyra's title as Princess of Dragonstone even more questionable, leading to an even greater rise of the Greens at court. He inherited his mother's feud with Rhaenyra, transferring it to the sons of the heiress - Jacaeris, Luceris and Joffrey Velarion. At the age of 10, he rode Vhagar, the oldest, largest and most dangerous dragon at that time. It happened on the Driftmark at the funeral pyre of Laenor Velarion. Vhagar had recently lost her rider, and it was very dangerous to approach her, even for Targaryen, so he secretly slipped out of his bed at dawn and made his way to the large courtyard where the dragons were kept. When he was sneaking up on the dragon, Rhaenyra's youngest son, Joff, told Aemond not to approach her. Afraid that the boy would raise the alarm, Prince Aemond slapped him, shouted at him to be quiet, and then shoved him into a pile of dragon excrement. Joffrey started crying, and Aemond ran up to Vhagar and climbed on her back. Vhagar roared, jerked, shook violently, then broke her chains and took off. And the boy Prince Aemond Targaryen became a dragon rider, flying around the island twice. But when he landed, Rhaenyra's sons were waiting for him. The Velaryon princes were younger, but there were three of them, and they were armed with wooden swords from the training yard. A fight broke out. Aemond broke Luke's nose with a punch, then tore the sword out of Joff's hands and slammed it into the back of Jake's head, causing him to fall to his knees. When the younger boys backed away from him, bloodied and bruised, the prince began to mock them, calling them Strong. Then Jake ran into Aemond again, but he began to beat him violently, until Luke, rescuing his older brother, pulled out a dagger and slashed at Aemond's face, gouging out his right eye.
