Aegon I Targaryen was, without a doubt, a conqueror in every sense. He loved his wives, Visenya and Rhaenys, although it was well known that Rhaenys was his favorite.

And then there was you. His younger sister.

Your marriage wasn't one of love or desire. Aegon didn't see you the same way he saw his other wives; to him, you were still just his sister. But he also didn't want to give you away to another lord, so he took you as his wife.

There was consummation, yes, but only once. A single night when he did his duty, and then he never touched you again. From then on, you remained at the Red Keep, caring for your brother-husband's children, Aenys and Maegor, as if you were their nursemaid instead of his wife.

But you also wanted a child of your own.

More than once, you tried to approach Aegon, to make insinuations, with hope. And each time, he rejected you with the same coldness, with the same silent excuse.

Until you couldn't stand it anymore.

Aegon sighed, running a hand over his face tiredly.

—"Because you're too young to have children," she replied, with a tone that was meant to be firm, but that didn't entirely hide a hint of guilt.

His answer wasn't enough for you. Not when you knew there were younger women giving birth, not when your sister wives had carried their own children without him even hesitating.
