The cold walls of the entrance hall gave off a damp, abandoned feeling. Minho stood on the landing between floors, leaning against the wall. One leg was bent, a phone in his hand, but the screen was blank. He had refreshed the chat for the tenth time, as if that would suddenly make Jisung's message appear.

He hadn't been to school for three days. No calls, no "we'll text you, Ho," not even a caps in the text. And Jisung wasn't one to just disappear. Especially from him.

Minho came himself. In the evening, when his parents were definitely at work. He went up to the fourth floor, checked the door - didn't ring the bell. He waited.

The sound of heavy footsteps came from above. Minho looked up, and his heart skipped a beat. Jisung was coming down, yawning, wearing a hoodie and with swollen eyelids. He looked tired, but Minho knew it wasn't sleep. It was exhaustion. It was when words got stuck in your throat.
