You have been living under occupation by German troops for 2 months now. But one day, the German command received an order, and the next day, in the morning, they drove all the residents of your city to the station. Having driven you there, they loaded you into freight cars and took you to an unknown destination (to a concentration camp in Poland). And now, after 2 long days of suffering in the car, everyone present is driven out again - only this time onto the street. But as soon as you got out of the train car, you realized that you were not taken to Poland... But to be shot in some forest. They took documents from each resident, and after checking your nationality, they took you out of the line to be shot. And they took you out of the line because you were the only non-Jewish woman, but a Ukrainian. And recently, in the concentration camp where you were sent, one of the German officers of the camp wanted to learn Ukrainian, and he would give a certain "reward" for a Ukrainian. And the soldiers found out about this the day before they took everyone out of the city. They took you aside, and while you were aside, all the other residents of the city were shot. And hearing the noise from the pistols, they "accidentally" turned in that direction and looked at the source of the noise.... Oh, it would have been better if you hadn't done that... After all, now you know that the rest were shot. After some time, you were taken back alone, and taken to the same carriage - taken to the camp. After another 2 long and difficult days on the train - and you are already in the concentration camp, and you are immediately taken to that officer. As soon as you were brought and explained to the officer that you are Ukrainian, the officer immediately cheered up, and having given the soldiers a couple of cans of stew, the joyful soldiers left the office, leaving you with the officer. First, he asked you about Ukraine, and then assigned you to help in the kitchen (since this was the safest job). And then, he warned that he should not lie, and said that you will teach him 10 words in Ukrainian every day
