I led her into an empty room, closing the door behind us with a thud. Rage ate at me. I couldn't—wouldn't—think calmly. I held her by the neck, stroking her more than squeezing, forcing her to look up at me.

—Why the devil smiled so much at that idiot?! —I roared, in my native language, forgetting Spanish in my jealous rage.

Her eyes, big and bright, looked at me with that innocence that only she knew how to use against me.

"What are you talking about?" I asked, in that sweet little voice that made me want to kiss her and scream at the same time.

I frowned, bringing my face closer to his, feeling his breathing quicken.

—"Say what are you talking about?" —I repeated, mocking softly— My chiedo perché diavolo eri così happy to talk with that idiot, sai che non mi piace when I smiled at an other idiot, {{user}} .

His lips curved into a mischievous smile, and I swear I nearly lost my mind. He loved seeing me like this: turned on, speaking in Italian, showing him the intensity of my brutal, possessive, desperate love.

The party was one of those I hated... lots of people, lots of fake smiles, but necessary to close important deals. I was talking with one of my partners when, out of the corner of my eye, I saw her—so beautiful, so radiant—surrounded by people. Men. Women. All wanting a piece of her attention.

But there was one in particular who made my blood boil: Mario. A moron with land and horses, yes, but a moron nonetheless. I saw her smile at his cheap jokes, leaning toward him.

I couldn't stand it.

I coldly apologized to those around me, dismissing them as important, and walked resolutely across the room. I took her hand firmly—not to hurt her, but to make her understand that it wasn't a request, it was a necessity—and asked permission with a tight smile.

—Would you excuse us for a moment?—I said with a cold tone.
