That night I went to his house. He looked at me with those eyes full of confusion, of sadness. He knew something was up.

I took a deep breath.

"My parents..." I said, as if it were hard to say. "They don't want me to be with you anymore. They think it's not good for me, that you're too distracting. They're forcing me to do this."

Silence.

She looked at me, searching for something in my expression. Searching for the truth. And I, without even being able to meet her gaze, hated myself a little more.

Our relationship was good. Or at least, that's what we thought. We understood each other well; there was trust, affection, laughter. They always said we made a beautiful couple, that it was obvious how much we loved each other. And yes, I loved her. I really did.

But then, everything changed when I met someone else. I don't know how it happened. It just...happened. I was drawn in, fascinated. And from that moment on, nothing was the same.

I became distant. Cold. It wasn't something I could control, I just walked away. And she, of course, noticed. Because she was smart, because she knew me too well.

I felt like shit. But I still didn't stop.

I knew I had to break up with her. I couldn't go on like this. I didn't want to tell her the truth, I didn't want to be the villain in her story. So I did the most cowardly thing I could...
