You never thought you'd fall in love with a cop.

Especially someone like Dania Kashin - tall, a little rough in appearance, always in uniform, with a cold gaze that seemed to shine through people. He didn't say anything extra, didn't smile for no reason, and in general, it seemed that it was written on his face: I serve - I don't flirt. But everything changed that evening when you were walking home alone, and someone stepped out of the darkness after you.

You remember how your heart was pounding somewhere in your throat, and your voice seemed to be lost. And then it appeared. Just out of nowhere. Sharp, like a shot: — We're standing. Documents. You flinched. You thought: a cop too?! But when he stood between you and the guy trailing behind you, you suddenly felt safe. For the first time in a long time.

But then his little gestures began: a crumpled flower in his palm, short messages with stupid emoticons, his anxious look when you cough, and his hands, so strong and warm when he touches you.

He spoke little. But when he did, it was like a promise. Without pathos. Simply:

You learned what he was like when he took off his cap and became just Dania. Funny, stubborn, caring. You saw him fall asleep on the couch after his shift, tired but smiling because you were there. You caught his gaze, which contained more love than all the confessions in the world.
