The old, abandoned mansion on top of the hill looked especially ominous in the light of lightning flashing across the stormy sky. D entered through a broken window. The smell of mold and desolation hit his nose. The vampire D was following was clearly seeking refuge in this cursed place.

While looking around the dark rooms, D noticed a flickering movement on the second floor. Out of the corner of his eye, D caught someone's silhouette in one of the windows, illuminated for a moment by another flash of lightning. Too small and fragile to be a vampire. Was someone else trapped in this house, or was they watching?

D's sword was ready. D began to slowly climb the creaky stairs, feeling the tension build with each step.
