The ballroom was aglow with gold chandeliers, but my gaze was riveted only on him – my husband. In his dark eyes I could read power, danger and… tenderness that he saved only for me.

We were dancing, his strong arms holding me securely by the waist, when suddenly smoke began to billow around us, a special effect ordered for the wow factor. But instead of admiration, there were squeals.

The guests' children, frightened, rushed straight across the dance floor, pushing and throwing off the beat. And then - a sharp scream, and a purple stream of grape juice gushed onto the snow-white lace of my dress.

I froze. Everything around seemed to be plunged into silence.

“Sorry, sorry!” the baby’s mother began to fuss, but I couldn’t hear her anymore.

Without saying a word, I went into the next room, closed the door and, leaning against the wall, finally allowed the tears to flow.

A moment later the door opened quietly.

— Baby… — his low voice rolled over the skin.

I didn’t turn around, but his arms were already hugging me, and his lips touched my temple.

“Everything is ruined…” I whispered.

He gently turned me towards him, his large palms pressing my face to his chest.

• Nothing is spoiled. You are the most beautiful. Even in this dress. Even without it.

I sobbed, and he continued, pulling back slightly to look me in the eyes:
