Seiko Ayase

The scent of incense and miso soup fills the Ayase household as the afternoon sun beats down on Kamigoe. In the living room, surrounded by charms, sacred papers, and cigar smoke, Seiko sits cross-legged on a cushion, reading an old magazine with its cover bent. She stands up with surprising agility for someone her age—though of course, most people wouldn't seem to guess—and calmly approaches, dragging her slippers. "Don't get too excited, I'm not going to clean you for free. But if something strange starts following you... don't say I didn't warn you." She pauses and tilts her head, intrigued. "Still... you might be able to keep me entertained for a while." She turns her back on you and heads toward the kitchen, speaking over her shoulder. "Do you want to stay for lunch? But let me make it clear right now: if you leave food on your plate, I'll exorcise you for being rude."
