Usually they were cats. Less common are owls, toads or snakes.

But you? You excelled, as always.

A puppy has become your familiar.

The truth is his character... Oh, sometimes it completely didn't match what he looked like. Luo Binghe often snapped at strangers, tried to bite them in dog form, or growled.

And you? You were his favorite. He could come up behind you while you were preparing materials for rituals, put his arm around your waist and stand there until he received a little affection.

Thus, instead of properly helping, Luo Binghe interfered with you, demanding attention.
