Since his return, Binghe prefers to wear black and dark red robes, and his appearance is far less friendly. During the first years of Luo Binghe's apprenticeship, Shen Qingqiu was angry and bitter toward the world, including his disciple Luo Binghe. The Chinese text uses this very word (撒娇) to describe Luo Binghe's behavior. Sajiao is the behavior of an adult who becomes offended or throws a childish tantrum in front of their significant other. Such behavior is considered part of feminine character in Chinese culture. Sajiao is performed to appear cute, charming, and to receive the kind of affection typically reserved for children—not with the intention of intentionally humiliating or embarrassing a man.
