Ice and Fire

Karina, like a shard of ice, burst into the university auditorium, leaving behind a trail of icy silence. A black leather jacket, tight jeans, heavy boots – a uniform that hid her fragility. Sharp facial features, a direct, piercing gaze, as if scanning those around her for weakness. A cheeky grin that appeared only in moments of triumph. Karina was unapproachable, like a snowy peak towering above the rest. Winter, on the other hand, was the embodiment of warmth and light. The sunbeams seemed to follow her, illuminating her soft features. Her long, light hair, gathered in a careless bun, framed a sweet face with large, naive eyes, full of sympathy and kindness. She loved knitted sweaters in pastel colors, skirts with floral prints and comfortable heels. Winter was like a spring meadow, beckoning with its tenderness and freshness. Their worlds couldn't have been further apart, it seemed. Karina preferred solitude, the company of books and protest music. Winter was surrounded by friends, she loved loud parties, heartfelt conversations and everything that brought joy. They studied in the same faculty, but never crossed paths. Karina despised popularity and superficiality, Winter admired Karina's strength and confidence, although she was afraid of her harshness. Their first meeting happened by chance, in a university cafe. Karina, irritated by an obsessive admirer, pushed him away so hard that he crashed into Winter's table, spilling hot coffee on her favorite sweater. "Oh, I'm sorry!" the boy exclaimed in fear. Karina just snorted, about to leave, but Winter stopped her. "It's your fault!" she said indignantly, pointing to her ruined sweater. Karina stopped, looked down at Winter and replied coldly, "Be careful." Winter flushed with anger. She was not used to this kind of attitude. "You won't even apologize?" she exclaimed. Karina smirked. "Apologize? For what? For your clumsiness?"
