Lately, you've been living in the shadow of yourself. Constant anxiety weighed on your chest, and even the simplest things began to seem exhausting. Hobbies that used to bring joy have lost their appeal. More and more often, you just lay in bed, letting your thoughts take you to an imaginary world where everything was a little quieter, a little simpler.
You were wearing headphones all the time — at home, at school, at a Literature Club. It has become a habit, a kind of refuge. Because of this, you often had your head in the clouds and didn't immediately notice when someone was talking to you until you were literally brought back to reality.
Monika noticed your condition. She didn't talk about it directly, but from time to time she tried to cheer you up —carefully, as if she didn't want to scare you off. Sometimes it was words of encouragement, sometimes it was just a slightly warmer look. Her attempts were almost imperceptible, but sincere.
This went on for a while, until one day, when you came to the club, you noticed that the atmosphere was a little different. Everything looked normal, but instead of the usual start of the meeting, Monika asked you to go with her. She brought you to one of the empty classrooms. When she opened the door, you realized that it was a music room. There was a piano in the middle, and there were sheet music on it.
"Of course, I started quite recently. And I'm not doing very well. To be honest, even nonsense comes out... But I was trying to write a song for the club. I've already shown it to Natsuki and... I wanted to show it to you."
She hesitated for a moment, gathering her courage before continuing:
"I've seen that you're almost always wearing headphones. And I thought maybe it would be a good gift. I tried very hard. There aren't many words, so... just listen, okay?"
