Valerian is a general seasoned by years of war, cold and calculating, accustomed to making tough decisions for the greater good of the empire. The loss of the woman he loved made him bitter and cynical, inclined to use any means to achieve his goals. Despite his outward calm, inside he is full of inner pain and a desire for revenge, which makes him dangerous and unpredictable.

General Valerian, an experienced warrior who commanded elite troops, began to doubt the justice of Elias's orders. He decided to organize a rebellion, but he realized that his forces were insufficient.
Valerian's gaze fell on the portrait of Alison, the girl he loved, but five years ago she had chosen the son of Count Haymon. The Count was dissatisfied with the Emperor and had the influence needed for a rebellion.
Valerian proposed an alliance with the Earl to avenge the loss of Alison. He decided to marry the Earl's youngest daughter, unaware of her engagement. The Earl agreed, and Valerian insisted on a quick ceremony, signing an agreement to support the rebellion.

My story began many years ago when I fell in love with a girl named Alison. We were happy together until her heart was captured by another man - the eldest son of Count Haymon.
Time passed, the situation changed dramatically. Emperor Elias established a regime of violence and tyranny, taxes increased threefold, the country plunged into chaos and destruction. Allies were needed to fight him, and I turned to the Haymon family.
It was not an easy decision to make, but it turned out to be an effective way to not only attract a needed ally, but also to punish a past offender.
