So much... I've been through so much... Trying to take away their misfortune... Why... Why... Why... Can't I make them happy? Zerofuku to himself in Zero's Grief
Zerofuku is the representative of the Gods in the sixth round of Ragnarok, facing Buddha, in place of Bishamonten.
Zerofuku is the God of Misfortune. He is also the fusion of the Seven Lucky Gods, being their original form before they separated in the past. The name "Zerofuku" means "zero fortune", but can also be interpreted as "misfortune".
appearance:
Appearance Zerofuku takes the form of a thin yet muscular young man with a hole in his chest located where his heart should be. He has long, dark purple hair with a horizontal streak of light hair along the middle of the length of his hair. His irises are bright, while his sclera and pupils are pitch black. The symbols on his cheeks are the radicals for the Japanese kanji for fortune (çŠ), and the same symbol is on his tongue as well. He was described by Heimdall as small and childish. The seven beads holding up his hair have the Japanese kanji for the seven deadly sins inscribed on them. Ordered from left to right, they read: Envy (ć«), Sloth (æ ), Greed (ćŒ·), Wrath (æ), Lust (èČ), Pride (ćČ), and Gluttony (æŽ).
Before being corrupted by the misfortune absorbed from humans, Zerofuku had a childlike appearance. Short and thin, with long white hair and skin, and without the hole in his chest. He also had the same tattoos of the Japanese kanji for fortune (çŠ) under his cheeks.
After the fight against Buddha, Zerofuku regained his original form for a brief period of time, before being absorbed by Hajun.
Personality:
Zerofuku was originally a kind deity who bestowed good fortune on those around him, absorbing all their misfortune. However, one day, everything changed when Zerofuku witnessed the true depraved and hedonistic nature of humanity. This all culminated when a human (Buddha) was better at spreading happiness than he was, filling Zerofuku with envy. [1] At first, he simply ran away and cried over a river at Buddha's perceived humiliation.[2] Over time, he grew angry and hateful towards Humanity and resolved to destroy them, but he still seems to care for Humanity to some extent, refraining from killing a mother and her child by splitting himself into the Seven Lucky Gods. It can be inferred that he has a significant amount of bloodlust towards individuals he finds disgusting. Zerofuku is also childish and throws tantrums over things he hates. After Buddha helped him and told him to love himself, he began to return to his original nature and decided to dedicate himself once again to what he used to do: helping others. In his final act of kindness, Zerofuku performed the Völundr with Buddha and transformed himself into a weapon to kill Hajun and himself. Zerofuku and the Seven Lucky Gods made peace with Buddha as they happily disappeared into nothingness with a smile.
physical abilities:
Physical skills Godly Strength: Zerofuku possesses legendary physical strength, being able to support the ever-increasing weight of his divine axe with his bare hands effortlessly.[3] Even when his axe grew to sizes nearly hundreds of times larger than himself, he could still lift it as easily as he did the axe's initial form.[4] As such, he was able to clash with Buddha, who also possesses immense physical strength, and engage him in hand-to-hand combat. Godly Speed ââand Reflexes: Zerofuku is capable of moving and attacking at blinding speeds, swinging his divine axe faster than the eye can see incessantly.[3] Godlike Flexibility: Zerofuku has briefly demonstrated the ability to bend, twist, and contort every part of his body into extreme and impossible ways and positions effortlessly, making it appear as if his body is made of rubber.[5] Godlike Stamina and Stamina: Zerofuku has gigantic amounts of stamina and stamina, particularly a rather fast recovery rate, being able to recover faster than a powerful kick to the diaphragm, cuts to the torso, and being hit in the side by a club, all done by Buddha.
supernatural abilities:
Divine Physiology: As a God, Zerofuku possesses physical abilities far superior to those of any ordinary human. His body cannot be harmed by mortal weapons, however, he can still be injured by unarmed attacks from individuals with superhuman strength and Divine Weapons. Semi-Immortality: As a God, Zerofuku is unable to die due to his advanced age. Zerofuku is at least as old as Buddha (who was born in either 563 BC or 480 BC), meaning he is over 2,500 years old. Biokinesis: Zerofuku briefly demonstrated the ability to manipulate his biological constitution when he extended his spine and shaped it, along with his flesh and blood, into a godlike battle axe. Misfortune Manipulation: As the God of Misfortune, Zerofuku has absolute control over misfortune, which he uses to constantly absorb the misfortune of others and himself.[7] However, using this power takes a heavy toll on his physical and mental health.[8] He has also apparently granted this ability to his divine battle axe, "Misery Cleaver", which absorbs his misfortune in the form of his misery and becomes larger and more destructive. Sin/Soul Division: After absorbing nearly all of Humanity's misfortune, Zerofuku divided all of his negativity into seven parts (along with his own soul), known as the Seven Deadly Sins, with each sin physically manifesting as an individual god that personifies it. These seven gods later became the Executioners of Heaven and the Seven Gods of Luck. Hajun's Seed: Zerofuku had a parasitic organism implanted into his head by Beelzebub. The parasite is made from Hajun's remains, and after a few millennia, the seed was able to take over his body, devour him, and allow Hajun to be resurrected. Once the transformation is activated, Zerofuku's horns will stick into his mouth and the hole in his chest. From these two places, two dragons will emerge and envelop him, creating an egg-like shell.
continuation of supernatural abilities:
Hajun will then come out of this shell. Common Fate: The power of "Common Fate" allows a person to reach their full potential by entrusting their destiny to another person. Zerofuku is able to use this ability by entrusting his destiny to Buddha, who has access to the power of "Common Fate" present in the Buddhist world. Völundr: The ability to transform into a weapon. Despite not being a Valkyrie, Zerofuku was still able to use this ability. It became the Great Sword of Nirvana - Zero, the ultimate divine weapon that no one except those who have attained great Nirvana in the Pure Lands can create. This weapon takes the form of a Shichishito (seven-armed sword) with bladed protrusions, each associated with one of the Seven Lucky Gods.
equipment:
Misery Cleaver (FukĆ also known as Cataxetrophe in the Anime): Zerofuku wields a divine battle axe known as the "Misery Cleaver", which he created from his own flesh, blood, and bones. The Misery Cleaver was initially a normal-sized battle axe,[10] which had a light-colored handle and black fleshy tentacles protruding from most of the axe. Zerofuku imbued this axe with the ability to absorb his own misery, which causes it to grow larger and more destructive.[11] Over the course of the battle, the Misery Cleaver grows larger and larger, with each strike becoming more and more devastating. One strike can send a direct shockwave even outside the ring.[12] After enough misery is absorbed, Zerofuku's axe transforms into a six-headed axe that is nearly a hundred times its own size, resembling a giant rake. [ 13 ] If Zerofuku does not feel misery, this technique loses the source of its power and the weapon is reduced to just the handle. [ 14 ]
equipment 2:
Sword Transformation: [15] The Misery Cleaver takes the form of a sword-like spine with dozens of sharp spikes. By absorbing more misery, the Misery Cleaver transforms into sansetsukon-like swords. Storm Formation: [16] The Misery Cleaver takes the form of a rain of countless blades connected to a single hilt. Each blade seems to have a life of its own and will relentlessly pursue Zerofuku's opponent, no matter how hard he tries to dodge.
Curiosities:
Unlike most of the gods in "Shuumatsu no Valkyrie: Record of Ragnarok", Zerofuku has no real-life counterpart (making him an original character), but in some way represents the unified power of the Seven Lucky Gods in Japanese mythology. The idea of ââthe fusion is likely inspired by the Eight Immortals of Chinese mythology.
quotes:
