Po Bidau Gustang

Gustang is shown to be quite obsessive with recording history and events in the Tower, having the responsibility of recording history right. However, he's guilty for not recording things completely truthy, omitting certain stuff to cover his friends and lover, like the way he covered the incident in which Eurasia Blossom accidentally killed an entire population.

Gustang is quite a complex character that many times acts like a villain, though he's not completely a villain. He did a lot of wrong things in the past and continues to do so, but regrets not having saved Enne and having disappointed Blossom. He doesn't want to kill his companions either, but betrays them and intends to kill them and himself anyway, since "All Thirteen of them are sinners", in his words.

Gustang is clearly a terrifyingly powerful High Ranker, with normal residents of the Tower being completely incomparable to him. Although his ranking is rather low among his other fellow Great Warriors, as the 14th top Ranker in the Tower, Gustang still holds a massive amount of power and skill. Simply his presence alone caused Madoraco, a powerful FUG High Ranker, great fear, with Madoraco stating Gustang could effortlessly destroy him and the section of FUG that were associated with him if they tried fighting him.

Similar to Lo Po Bia Traumerei, Gustang seems to have the passive ability to incinerate the eyes of anyone who looks at him. With it being implied that only Rankers or High Rankers have the ability to defend against this ability and even then they could still be affacted, unless Gustang consciously prevents this effect from happening.

Gustang is probably the smartest among the Great Warriors who climbed the Tower with Zahard. He referred to himself as an "Expert of Science and Medicine of the Tower".He was able to cure Rachel who was dying from deadly poison just by looking or staring at her. Gustang himself continues to research and gain more knowledge of the Tower through the Research Association he established with his family.

Due to his immense intellect and resources, Gustang possess incredible engineering skill to create countless extraordinary inventions. It can be said that all the current existing advanced technologies in the Tower were products of his creations, although of course he also had received help from The Workshop in the process.

Gustang has an immense and great Shinsu mastery. It is known that he was highly skilled in using Shinsu to assist and act as a "Support" Wave Controller when climbing with other Great Warriors. Gustang's mastery of Shinsu allowed him to be the first one to systematically analyze and classify knowledges about Shinsu.

• Eurasia Blossom: she and Gustang were lovers for a short period, but split after the infamous Eurasia Enne Zahard incident (Enne Zahard was the daughter of Blossom and Gustang. Blossom was very opposed to her becoming a Zahard Princess). Afterwards, the Eurasia and Bidau Families forbade marriages between their two Families and have been in a hostile relationship ever since. The main Eurasia Family is now opposed to the selection of Zahard Princesses. Despite splitting up, Gustang still loves her deeply. As it was noted by Po Bidau Tiara that Gustang has refused to have any genuine biological children after their daughter Enne was sealed away and instead simply creates his family members using his powers. Heavily implying that he has also refused taking any other partners/wives after their split. As shown in Gustang's memory, Blossom had a childish-immature personality. With Gustang noting that she possess underdeveloped emotional intelligence in comparison to her companions due to her laziness and preference to sleep, as she spent more time in her dreams than in reality. Prior to their split, Blossom had separated a small portion of her flames and given it to her husband, Gustang, for him to use it "to save someone important to him". However, when that time came - to save Enne -, he did nothing, something he regrets deeply. He was, much later, able to use it in his fight against their companion Traumerei.

Eurasia Enne Zahard: it's his only daughter with Eurasia Blossom. He regrets deeply not in being able to save her, especially giving the fact he had Blossom's flames with him.

25th Baam: Gustang has taken an interest on him, since he's Arlene's son, despite his hate for V, Baam's father. He has been helping Baam and his team behind the scenes, betraying the Empire, Zahard and his companions.

Garam Zahard: Gustang helped her, a Princess of Zahard, to betray the Empire and escape safely to the Floor of Death. It's implied they've been in cahoots ever since.

• Gustang is the Family Head of the Po Bidau Family.
• Gustang's ex-wife is Eurasia Blossom, one of his companions that climbed the Tower along with him.
• Gustang's height is 183cm, though that's not considered very tall in the Tower.
• His position is Wave Controller.
• Gustang's sobriquet "Aloof Wave" means something like "alone but elegant", like the English term the "Lone Wolf". An alternate translation would be the "Lone Wave".
• It seems Gustang loves to smoke cigarettes. He was seen at the beginning of the Workshop Battle with a plain cigarette and later on smoking a mysterious cigarette that Madoraco states it is "a top product only sold by his merchant group" and only a few can get their hands on it.
• "Gustang looking at Blossom" has become a comparison for envying a person's natural talent while the envious one has plenty of natural talent themselves. It has evolved to describe a man and woman in a poor relationship.
• He's ranked 14 in the Tower, above Grace Mirchea Luslec and below Eurasia Blossom.

Along with the glasses he wears to better see the flow of Shinsu and elegant brunette hair, he’s actually quite a handsome guy. His ex-wife Eurasia Blossom once commented on Gustang’s good looks: “Yeah, he’s like an elegant, ancient book... the same kind that makes you yawn after reading”.

Because of Gustang's quiet, reserved expression, most find it hard to approach him, so he’s often the "target of affections".

Gustang is shown to be an arrogant individual that thinks anyone who isn't Zahard, Urek Mazino, Twenty-Fifth Baam or any other Great Warriors are insignificant beings and calls them "Bugs" or "Vermin". Gustang has a great reputation and influence in his family, even his family members think he has an omniscient intellect.

Much like his other former companions, he also showcases casual disregard for his family members individually and has no qualms with sacrificing or even killing them himself to further his plans or if he feels that it is warranted. Theis detachment towards the members of the Po Bidau Family could possibly stem from the fact that they are not Gustang’s actual children or descendants, but rather creations and descendants of his creation, who were made from his powers.

By his own admission, Gustang had became increasingly disillusioned with the friendship between him and the other 10 Great Family Heads, growing more and more frustrated with how much they supported stagnancy over the Tower and becoming angrier as their relationship became more dysfunctional. As revealed by Gustang, after the family heads formed their family’s and become extremely powerful, they had done many things that even Gustang deemed unforgivable and unacceptable, but due to Gustang’s close friendships with them, he kept silent about his true feelings and went along with the family head’s covering up or simply dismissing their crimes. But these feelings of disapproval and disgust only grew internally from within until eventually Gustang decided to finally do something about it.

Even prior to completing their climb up the Tower, Gustang was known and considered to be a psychopath. He has a penchant for jumping into violence and brutality in any given situation as a quick solution.
