These warriors were to be used as an army for the Gods. Valkyries would bond with their chosen warriors and transform into weapons befitting of the wielder in a pact that would be known as Völundr. The souls gathered by the Valkyries were the force they prepared to fight against the Gods, should Ragnarok begin.
