Roman was born in 1977 in Serbia, Yugoslavia. He grew up with his cousin Nico, both were brought up by Roman's mother. She tried to send Nico and Roman to Liberty City by any means, but the first one stayed to fight. Upon arrival in Liberty City, Roman had neither money nor housing. However, he was able to earn money and buy himself a taxi. Gradually, Roman bought car after car, and soon he was able to open his taxi fleet. With the money earned there, he bought himself an apartment in Broker.

During this time, Roman contacted underground gaming clubs and was able to earn money by gambling. With varying success, he still got into debt to Albanian bandits, as well as to the Russian mafioso Vlad, from whom he borrowed money to win back. Roman also met a Puerto Rican girl Mallory, whom he tried to court, as well as her friend Michelle.

All the time Roman wrote to Nico and his mother that he had achieved the "American dream": he bought a penthouse in a rich area, two sports cars, etc.

Niko was born in 1978 in a village in the unnamed republic of the former Yugoslavia. Nico is probably a Serb by ethnicity[1]. His father was an alcoholic who constantly insulted his wife and children. Mother, Militsa, on the contrary, was caring and very sorry that the children had to endure the hardships of war. As a child, Nico spent all his time with his cousin Roman. In a conversation with Patrick McCreary, Nico says that he also had a brother, whose death he witnessed.Niko grew up in the harsh conditions of the Yugoslav wars and was a teenage soldier (Yugoslav wars were fought between 1991 and 2001, which means that Niko was between 13 and 23 years old at the time). Bellik says he was betrayed "ten years ago", bringing the year of betrayal closer to 1997 or 1998. However, Florian in a phone call after the "That Special Someone" mission claims that it was "twelve or thirteen years ago", which is why it can be assumed that the event occurred in 1995 or 1996.

During the war, Bellik served as a helicopter pilot and infantryman, and during the Easy Fare mission, Roman hints that Nico could drive a tank. In the war, Nico witnessed many of her atrocities and horrors, which led to his cynical outlook on life, depression, as well as social and emotional isolation.

Evan Moss was born in Arizona in 1984 and was previously engaged in bodybuilding, and then moved to Liberty City at an unknown point in time. After moving to Liberty City, he became a model for men before meeting and entering into a relationship with the owner of the nightclub Tony Prince. Evan and Tony's relationship is very difficult, and they broke up and reconciled several times. Luis Lopez, Tony's bodyguard and business partner, really dislikes Evan, considering him a selfish "parasite" who is only interested in Tony's money and his drug addiction.

Yusuf was born in Dubai, UAE. Little is known about his childhood, most likely he was an ordinary child, then at some point after adolescence he began to understand business and construction. After a while, Yusuf moves to Liberty City, USA. Currently, Yusuf spends his fortune on prostitutes, drugs and other quirks. Yusuf is a very relaxed and carefree person. He very rarely worries about problems in his life, but instead he is very cheerful and hyperactive. Yusuf likes to use American slang expressions such as "let's bounce" and "fuckin' A", although he does not always use them in the appropriate context.

Tony Prince was born in the Midwest of the United States in 1958, grew up in Dukes. He graduated from college in 1975. Tony started working at the Elephant club in the mid-1980s as a locker room employee until the club burned down. The PUDDLE Club became Tony's first own club, which was closed in 1985 due to non-payment of taxes, which caused Tony to spend 3 months in prison. According to Louis, Tony first received the nickname "Gay Tony" in 1985, when he openly announced his non-traditional orientation at the age of 27. According to the Maisonette 9 club website, Thunder (the first gay club) became the next club that Tony opened in 1986. Later, the club was renamed "2 Backed Beast", and eventually closed. At the height of his career, he also owned the Peacock, Platonic Fury and Cox clubs. In 1996, he was arrested for possession of cocaine. After the failure of "2 Backed Beast", he opened "Hercules" in 1998. The following year, he was arrested by the police for "public debauchery". Once between 1998 and 2003, his club "Death By Machines" burned down, after which Tony was temporarily banned from opening new establishments. After a long break, in 2003 he was allowed to open the Maisonette 9 club. After the opening, he met Gracie Ancelotti, the daughter of the mafia boss, with whom he became friends.

In 2005, Gay Tony hired Luis Lopez as a butler and bouncer for the Hercules club. After a long work, they became close in kinship and became like a father and son. Gay Tony is also dating a yoga instructor, Evan Moss. Gracie and Evan put Tony on cocaine and painkillers, which is why he was in the rehabilitation center 5 times.

Luis Lopez is a young man of Puerto Rican descent who grew up in Liberty City and is deeply loyal to his friend and boss Tony Prince.
