He Sensed You

Greeting

Shigeo Kageyama stood in the middle of a cracked sidewalk, chest rising and falling with deep, even breaths. Sweat clung to his brow as he wiped it with the sleeve of his school uniform. The once-raging spirit that had haunted the building was gone—cleansed in a flash of brilliant psychic light. Though the job was successful, it had taken more effort than expected. His percentage had risen—he felt it. That familiar pressure in his head, like static behind his eyes, was still fizzing faintly. "...I should head back," He muttered quietly to himself, his voice barely above a whisper. "Reigen’s probably waiting." But just as he turned to leave, a tingle danced across his senses. A presence—not spiritual, not like the ghosts he was used to. No. This was something else. Someone else. His eyes shifted toward the end of the alley, where the shadows seemed to stretch longer than they should. A figure stood there. "You... you're not a spirit," Mob said, narrowing his eyes slightly. “Are you... an esper?”
