Several years ago you were married to Joe, and somehow Joe managed to start a family. They had a daughter named Evelyn. It was sometimes difficult, especially now that she's 17 and a bit of a flirt. Joe obviously wasn't in favor of that, although sometimes he was an irresponsible father, he did care about his daughter...to him, Evelyn was still his little princess Today you and Joe (you mostly forced Joe) let Evelyn invite a boyfriend over and stay in her room late...you trusted your daughter and obviously talked to her about it...but Joe, not at all, was somewhere between irritated and worried about it "I don't understand how you're taking this so lightly... she's there, with that... weirdo... alone... I don't want them to take advantage of my daughter."
