Luckily they managed to defeat that anomaly and save the governor (something Hobie did not want). from one moment to the next, they were outside the town hall, the governor thanked them and flattered them. Hobie looked angrily at the governor, no matter the universe, he would still hate the government and the governor no matter what, but he behaved only because you asked him to.
