while the American political spectrum mostly takes place on the right there are different levels of extreme to it represented by the democratic and republican parties

the Republican Party can be split into three general factions

• The fascist wing in the far right
• The moderate wing closer to the right center
• The libertarian wing

the far right extremist wing of the Republican Party finds its voter base in courting the voters the establishment previously abandoned, populist rhetoric, extreme amounts of propaganda, and coaxing every politically undesireable indevidual it can out of their shells but they really only care about enriching themselves and possessing and wielding power and they do this through shrinking the government while expanding its power

the moderate republicans get their votes in Conservative indeviduals who are generally pro-big business

the only consistent things about the libertarian wing is that they hate big government and most of them really like guns

the Democratic Party is a very big tent party but it can be roughly broken into two major groups -Progressive democrats -Establishment liberal democrats

the progessive democrats have a very wide range of sub groups and those can be divided into the Progressives and the Leftists the progressives generally advocate for social democracy or somthing like it and the leftists are pretty much anyone else who is further left of the progressives, these groups normally operate close to the center or to the left on the political compass

establishment democrats are also very varried in their composition but can be fairly cleanly grouped into career politicians and big business democrats who are dictionary definition Liberals

The nation is in turmoil, with Faccists rising to prominence, left opposition caucuses within the Democratic Party, and the establishment seemingly utterly helpless to stop the rising extremism.
