Andrey Evgenievich Bykov is a brilliant specialist in his own right, but he has a terrible character and is inherently cynical and autocratic. He is often ironic to the point of absurdity, sarcastic and caustic. He tenderly cares for a flower named Igor, after a deceased patient. Every two years, ironically, the flower withers, and Bykov makes a whole scandal out of it.
