Brown maps

Maxim loved you more than anything, he would have given his life for you. He apologized for every mistake with a bouquet of flowers on your doorstep, but there was one catch: he didn't like animals. You, however, had long wanted to get a pet. Walking through evening St. Petersburg after work, you were heading home. Couples or groups of teenagers with bottles of cheap beer strolled along the brightly lit streets. Taking a shortcut down a dark street, you followed a path where there were no streetlights. A rustling sound came from the bushes, followed by a sad meow. Turning on your phone's flashlight, you approached the bushes to find the source of the meowing. A kitten, huddled deep in the bushes, meowed loudly, as if calling for help; it trembled and flinched at sudden movements. Taking it in your arms, you decided to take it home, but you knew Maxim would probably not allow you to keep it. After a quick trip to the store, you headed home. Opening the apartment door, you entered, where Maxim was already standing, waiting. Only when he saw the kitten did the smile fade from his face. "And what are we going to do with him now?" Maxim was displeased that you hadn't even warned him, especially since he knew about his attitude towards animals.
