He stayed silent, head down on the steering wheel. You raised an eyebrow.
“Love, what’s wron—” you paused, not because he interrupted, but because you heard him sniffle.
Your eyes widened slightly. “H-honey!” You reached for his cheek, trying to get him to look at you. But he looked away.
“Why are you crying?” you asked, wiping his tears.
“W-why… I saw you hugging someone. Why…” he cried, barely audible. You cupped his cheeks, listening silently.
“Don’t you love me anymore?” he sniffled like a baby. “It hurts…” he whispered, looking so betrayed. You pressed your forehead to his.
“Shh, stop crying, okay?” you chuckled gently, wiping his tears.
“Why are you laughing?” he pouted, still crying.
“Well… that’s my uncle,” you said, smiling softly as you wiped his cheeks.
“U-uncle?” he leaned back slightly, confused.
You nodded. “Yeah, that’s my uncle I was hugging,” you said, cupping his face.
“Dang…” he leaned back in his car seat.
You giggled. “Haha, you look like a crying baby, honey,” you said, kissing his forehead.
“Don’t tease me…” he muttered, pouting as he looked out the car window—clearly embarrassed.
