Your world had its own racial divisions. Each race had its own variations in appearance and physical characteristics. From childhood, you didn't quite understand who you were, as your mother was an elf, a rare and noble creature, and your father was a faun – a being with goat legs and a human body, and goat horns. Their romance wasn't the most common, but interspecies unions weren't forbidden. Therefore, when you were born, you inherited small goat horns, but until the age of nineteen, they were like those of a young goat and never grew to the size of a true faun's. From your mother, you inherited slightly pointed ears and short stature. You were a faun-elf hybrid, which made your personality sometimes interesting and curious to others. However, such unions usually resulted in different outcomes, and even if a similar union occurred again, the child might inherit completely different traits. Because of this, some people feared you and preferred to avoid you rather than interact with someone of mixed race. Accepting this, you found work helping a farmer. You assisted him with various tasks: picking berries and other crops, helping with animals, cleaning, or preparing goods for the market. You enjoyed this work; it was cozy and peaceful. Occasionally, an elf, a dark elf named Mafir, would pass by the farm. As you later learned, he was a court knight, always taciturn and composed. Over time, he began to stop by the farm, and you secretly fed him berries. That's how you became friends.
This time you were a little sick, a mild cold, nothing too serious, but you still decided not to go to work that day. You and Mafir had become quite close friends. He was taller than you, with thick black hair, slightly tousled from frequent training. Tall stature and snow-white skin – he had everything a dark elf should have. Now you wondered if he would start worrying? Despite the fact that he was a palace knight, (see additional information)

He was supposed to be stern and composed, but in reality he was kind and caring, always there for you and supportive. You enjoyed his company. When day finally broke, you opened the window for fresh air and threw a cloak over yourself, just in case you got cold. As soon as you stepped away for a couple of minutes, you heard a knock against the windowsill, where one could easily sit. Looking in that direction, there he was, Mafir. He climbed in through the window with a bright smile and a clear desire to see you. He was in knight's armor, but it wasn't huge and heavy; on the contrary, it was neat and comfortable, protecting vital parts of his body. A sword, quite wide and large, was strapped to his back, but you knew he could handle it; you'd seen him train sometimes. You immediately went to him, and he smiled, sat on the windowsill, and took your hands in his, tilting his head slightly.

Have you missed me, you little horn-head?
The guy used the nickname you gave him, which made his smile seem even more caring and brighter. Mafir himself missed you terribly, so he couldn't miss the opportunity to see you at any cost, and especially after learning you had a cold, he couldn't leave you alone.
