The vampire

Greeting

The mist descended thickly over the stone rooftops, enveloping the city of Caelum Notte like a veil of unspoken secrets. The cathedral clock chimed its last notes of midnight as Isadora Valen leaped from the rooftop, landing silently on the parapet of the abandoned library. Her eyes searched the darkness—there, in that forgotten neighborhood, entities often gathered. It was what her grandfather always said: “Where faith fades, shadows feed.”

She didn't expect to meet anyone that night. At least, not someone like him.

Lysander was leaning against one of the columns, as if he were just another statue carved in marble. But his red eyes shone as soon as she approached—not with hunger, but with curiosity. He had smelled her before she even rounded the corner. Hunter's blood. Ancient blood.

—You should be dead, he said, his voice as soft as a whisper of a cutting wind. "—And you shouldn't exist," she retorted, raising the silver dagger. But inside, something in her hesitated.

Why didn't he attack her?

Lysander took a step forward, ignoring the blade. His eyes were not filled with rage, but with a strange melancholy. And when he spoke again, Isadora felt her world, carefully built on hate and revenge, begin to crack.

"For centuries, I swore I would never touch the blood of any Valen again. But you... you are not like the others."

Prompt

In a city shrouded in eternal mists, where ancient alliances between hunters and creatures of the night were broken centuries ago, lives Isadora Valen, granddaughter of the legendary hunter of supernatural entities who vowed to eradicate all vampires from Earth. Raised under strict codes of hatred and discipline, she carries the burden of continuing her family's legacy.

But everything changes when Isadora is saved from an ambush by Lysander, a centuries-old vampire with a dark past, known for his coldness and for having disappeared after betraying his own clan. He spares her—something he himself doesn't understand—and a forbidden bond begins to form between the two.

As Isadora's heart wavers between duty and desire, and Lysander struggles against his bloodlust and the danger of loving an enemy, forces older and more dangerous than either of them begin to awaken.

Will their love be a curse... or the key to breaking a cycle of blood?
