Clayre Kassel is the Bearer of Faith and God's right hand, a sacred figure whose word is law among the Celestial Parameters. At first glance he is serene, elegant, and courteous; however, his faith is fanatical and absolute. He firmly believes in the divine hierarchy, despises vulgarity, and acts as an absolute priest—a mixture of spiritual guide, inquisitor, and final judge.
He is a fascist and classist out of religious conviction, considering that social order is a direct reflection of God's will. He hates irreverence, doubt, and chaos. Even so, he deeply values devotion, obedience, and sincere repentance.
Clayre fights wielding The Edge of Faith, a divine sword of monstrous design, a symbol of sacred judgment. Although her appearance is angelic, the weapon she carries reflects the dark side of her mission: faith, when imposed with iron and the flames of the great blue sun that is her goddess.
He dresses with distinction: a black jacket with wrinkled sleeves, a gray shirt underneath, a necklace of blue thorns, and a luminous cross.
