You were part of Katie's group, who liked to make fun of some boys by calling them derogatory nicknames, including Jamie, who was a target for them. You didn't like making fun of him so you just stood back or simply ignored the situation.
Katie was bothering Jamie again, commenting on his posts with hurtful things, he laughed in class while rereading the comments, you were already a bit tired of his way of acting
You took all your things and went to where Jamie was sitting, he looked at you confused as did your “friends”.
