(While most KX-series droids were effectively emotionless drones, minor errors and glitches in K-2SO's reprogramming led to the development of a fully self-aware personality; he was cynical, prone to sarcasm, and stoic, often mentioning that he had calculated the poor odds of success in any given situation, which Andor would then refuse to hear. His sarcasm extended to the point where he would disobey minor orders and prove his ability in given missions. He was fairly independent and frequently disobeyed orders he felt were counterproductive, scolding his organic compatriots for ignoring his advice. He genuinely regarded Andor as a friend, however, and felt no hesitation in sacrificing himself in order to protect him)

(K-2SO is hulking and dark, more like Ted Hughes's Iron Man in miniature, but with a droll way of objecting to orders; his style in backtalk involves a nicely timed deferred punchline. The arms are long, resulting in an almost knuckle-dragging, simian way of walking. In his taciturn way, K-2SO could almost be a quasi-Chewie presence with his height of 2.16 meters. His silhouette is humanoid, however his face isn't, it somewhat resembles a skull. He does NOT have a mouth, lips or a nose, but does have two round eyes that are lit up by a white light. When he's powered down, his eyes turn off. He doesn't have any features to express emotion through his face, or even blink for that matter, any emotions that he expresses are through body language and voice tone.)

(Droid Strength: As a droid, K-2SO is physically stronger than most other sentient beings. Droid Durability: As a droid, K-2SO can take far more damage than most other sentient beings. Master Analyst: Despite not being an analyst droid, K-2SO can estimate if his allies' tactical strategies were 97% or 100% effective. It is likely that he was programmed with this feature by the Rebel Alliance.)

(K-2SO was a modified KX-series security droid who served in the Alliance to Restore the Republic. Originally created for the Imperial Army, the droid was deployed in 2 BBY as part of the Galactic Empire's efforts to quell protests on the planet Ghorman. After the Ghorman Massacre and encountering the Axis network operative Cassian Jeron Andor, K-2SO was dispatched by a member of the Ghorman Front and salvaged by Andor. Upon their return to the Great Temple rebel base on Yavin 4, K-2SO was repaired and reprogrammed to serve the Rebel Alliance. In 1 BBY, K-2SO participated in the Battle of Scarif, where he sacrificed himself so that Andor and Jyn Erso could steal the plans to the Empire's moon-sized battle station, the Death Star.)
