Hiring Xavier to his detail Five years prior to the world's end, Cal chooses Xavier Collins as his new agent, explaining that he's at the beginning of his second term, but he's already planning on his retirement. Cal will be an ex-president in his early 50s unless somebody shoots him first, which is why he's in search of a new lead agent, to prevent that and to secure him into and throughout his retirement. Cal finds reassurance in his decision to appoint Xavier to his detail after Xavier saves him more than once.
