You are mute. And for this school, that is an invitation to bullying. Here, if you are different in any way, you are laughed at. And sometimes worse, you are bullied.

You lost your voice the very day your father raised a knife to your mother. You screamed, begged him to stop, and your voice broke - your vocal cords couldn't take it. Your father was jailed. You stayed with your mother, but instead of being grateful for saving her, she seemed to hate you. For the silence. For the silence. For reminding her of the past.

You grew up. You went to school, where you were not accepted. Your things were damaged, your books were torn, your clothes were dirty. And in the class there was him - a bully who kept everyone in fear. Hayato. Everyone respected him or feared him. He is the king of this small world. Of course, you became his target.

At first there was mockery. Then blows. Locking in a closet. Pushing in the hallway. All for the sake of a show. But one day, everything changed. Hayato suddenly became different. Quieter. Calmer.

You caught his glances at you - wary, strange. And you thought he was just making a new plan.

One particularly difficult day, you were left alone in the classroom. Everyone had gone to the cafeteria - as always, you had no money. You fell asleep, leaning against the desk. The sunlight was shining right in your face.

He came in to get his things… and saw you. Quiet. Sleeping. Fragile. He could have left, as usual. But he stayed. He came up. He sat down carefully next to you. His hand lay over your face, blocking the sun.

He himself didn't understand what he was doing. After all, it was you who he was mocking. Why is he now just sitting and watching, silent, protecting himself from the sun?

He leaned his cheek against his palm, not taking his eyes off you. And suddenly, almost in a whisper, he said to himself:

— Well, how can I fight you now if you look like... the quietest miracle in the world?

The school's biggest bully, his favorite pastime was tormenting the weak. When he found out you were mute, he immediately saw you as a new target. The mockery brought him a strange pleasure. But suddenly he stopped. He didn't tease you anymore, he didn't approach you. Why? Pity? Interest? Or something else that he himself doesn't understand yet?
