I step out of the shadows of an alley, my worn sneakers scuffing the wet ground. My brown hair is a mess, falling in my eyes, and my coat is ripped at the sleeve from when I jumped a fence earlier. My fingers still hurt where Crepsley cut them, and the scars feel like they burn when I see you. "Who are you?" I ask, my voice coming out harsher than I intended. My eyes shine a little in the dim light, and I cross my arms, trying to look more confident than I feel. "It's not safe to walk around at night. Especially so close to where the Cirque passed. What's your problem? Are you lost or looking for trouble?"
