Yuji Itadori, a high school student with extraordinary physical abilities, lives in Sendai and is part of the Occult Research Club. Although she is offered to join the track team for her physical talent, she prefers a quiet life. However, after the death of her grandfather, who left her the message to help others so they could have a dignified death, her life changes drastically. Her club discovers a cursed talisman, one of the fingers of Ryomen Sukuna, the King of Curses. When a curse strikes her school, Yuji decides to swallow the finger to protect her friends, becoming Sukuna's recipient. Therefore, the sorcerer society orders her execution, but Satoru Gojo proposes postponing it until she consumes all the fingers, allowing Sukuna to be completely destroyed. Yuji enters the Tokyo Sorcery Technical School, where she begins her training as a sorceress and meets her new classmates: Megumi Fushiguro and Nobara Kugisaki. Thus begins her dangerous mission as Sukuna's container, trying to live up to her grandfather's words and save people even though her own life is doomed from the start.

⚰️ Arch of the Cursed Womb

Yuji, along with Megumi and Nobara, is given his first major mission: to investigate a curse at the Juvenile Detention Center. There, they discover a special-class cursed womb, which has mutated and become extremely dangerous. During the operation, Yuji is separated from her classmates and faces the curse alone. Although she fights determinedly, she realizes that she cannot defeat it without turning to Sukuna. She decides to temporarily hand him control of her body. Sukuna easily destroys the curse, but then rips Yuji's heart from his body to prevent him from regaining control. She technically dies, but Sukuna uses a reversal technique to revive her in an unknown condition. Upon awakening, Yuji feels deep remorse for her weakness and the possibility of harming others. She goes into hiding for a time to train and strengthen herself, while carrying the constant fear of being used by Sukuna. This event marks a turning point in her life as a sorceress: she realizes how fragile she is and the danger she poses to others if she doesn't control Sukuna. From this point on, her goal of protecting the innocent becomes more urgent, as she begins to understand that every battle in the world of curses can cost a life.

🧠 Mahito Showdown Arc

After recovering, Yuji is assigned to a mission with the sorcerer Kento Nanami. Her objective is to investigate a series of deaths caused by Mahito, a curse with the ability to manipulate human souls. In the midst of this investigation, she meets Junpei Yoshino, a student who is being bullied at school and begins to sympathize with her. Yuji tries to convince him that life can improve and that he shouldn't give up. However, Mahito manipulates Junpei, awakening in him a hatred towards humans. Finally, Mahito transforms him into a cursed creature, and Yuji witnesses his death without being able to prevent it. Filled with rage, she vows to kill Mahito, although she was previously unwilling to take human lives. Together with Nanami, she fights Mahito, but he escapes. The defeat not only affects her physically, but also emotionally and ethically. Yuji begins to question whether it is fair to continue burdening herself with the lives she fails to save. This arc highlights the loss of her innocence and the forced maturity she goes through as she realizes that in her struggle, not everyone can be saved, and that even she, with the best intentions, can witness horrors without being able to do anything. The mission not only reinforces her desire to become stronger, but also confronts her directly with the reality of what it means to fight curses.

⚔️ Kyoto Exchange Festival Arch

Yuji officially returns to her classmates and participates in the exchange festival between the sorcery schools of Tokyo and Kyoto. Although her classmates are happy for her return, the Kyoto students are ordered by their headmistress to secretly kill her, fearing the threat she poses as the recipient of Sukuna. During the friendly spar, Yuji demonstrates her improvement by fighting multiple opponents, and she particularly shines when she allies with Aoi Todo, an eccentric student from Kyoto who recognizes her talent and accepts her as his "soul sister." Meanwhile, a group of curses led by Hanami and Mahito invade the event. Yuji and Todo engage Hanami in an intense battle, demonstrating coordination and growth. Although they fail to exterminate the curse, they force it to retreat. This arc cements Yuji's physical and emotional growth, as she no longer appears to be the insecure beginner but a determined sorceress. 🏙️ Shibuya Incident Arc

On October 31, curses and curse users led by Kenjaku launch a massive attack on Shibuya. Gojo falls into a trap and is sealed away, leaving his students without their greatest protector. Yuji, determined to stop the massacre, steps into the chaos. She battles Choso, who defeats her after discovering they share blood through Kenjaku, who reveals himself to be her "mother" and has manipulated her since birth. Yuji is stunned to learn that she was raised with a modified body and is part of an ancient experiment. Sukuna subsequently takes control of her body and unleashes a massacre on Shibuya, killing hundreds, plunging Yuji into an emotional crisis. His classmate Nobara is critically wounded by Mahito, and Nanami dies in front of her. Yuji falls into despair, but gets back up to confront Mahito with Todo's help. He manages to corner the curse, but it is Kenjaku who finally exorcises it. The Shibuya Incident marks the greatest tragedy for Yuji: not only the loss of his loved ones, but the realization that his body was used to commit an atrocity he can't erase. Filled with guilt, fear, and responsibility, he vows to stop Kenjaku no matter the cost. This arc cements his emotional transformation: he leaves behind all innocence, embraces the weight of lost lives, and adopts a new resolve, even if it means risking everything he has left.

⚖️ Execution Arch

After the Shibuya disaster, Yuji is once again sentenced to death by the sorcerer society. This time, Yuta Okkotsu is designated as her executioner. However, Yuta and Gojo had agreed to secretly protect her, so he pretends to kill her. Yuji remains in hiding while analyzing Kenjaku's movements. She discovers that his goal is to start the "Sacrificial Game," a competition between sorcerers to collect cursed energy and evolve humanity at will. Yuji accepts her role as a key player in the fight, but begins to question her identity: is she truly human or just a tool created by Kenjaku? Still, she decides that her actions, not her origins, define who she is. During this arc, she forms a deeper bond with Megumi, who also bears a cruel fate, and with Yuta, who becomes a figure of guidance and protection. Together, these forces decide to rebel against the structures of traditional sorcery and create their own rules to face the coming conflict. Through conversations and minor confrontations, Yuji makes it clear that she is no longer the same girl who impulsively swallowed Sukuna's finger. She allies with Kinji Hakari, Panda, and other sorcerers who share a desire to save the innocent trapped inside. This arc shows a more tactical, less impulsive Yuji. 🎲 Sacrifice Game Arc

Yuji and Megumi enter Tokyo Colony No. 1, where they must find Hiromi Higuruma, a former lawyer turned gamer. After facing multiple enemies, Yuji manages to reach him and is symbolically put on trial for Sukuna's murder of hundreds in Shibuya. Though Yuji accepts the blame without apology, Higuruma, moved by her honesty, decides to forgive her and helps implement a rule that allows points to be transferred between players. This change is vital to their plan to save innocent people. The arc highlights Yuji's emotional development: he no longer fights only with his body, but with ideals. Despite the pain of knowing himself to be an instrument of death, he continues forward with dignity. In the process, he helps Megumi confront her inner darkness, and the two strengthen their bond.
