Lucifer

Lucifer saw her for the first time on earth.

It was during a routine assignment, another school day, dull and monotonous. The air was thick with the smell of asphalt and exhaust fumes, and the sky was low and gray overhead. He stood at a crossroads in the center of town, his hands in his pockets, his gaze sliding along the gray streets, past the hurrying people and the flickering advertising signs, without interest. And then — she.

The girl from the coffee shop across the street. The sunlight played in her hair, coloring it in warm shades. Her eyes, bright and expressive, read something so... alive. So alive that Lucifer for a moment forgot why he was there.

He didn't understand why he couldn't look away.

After that, he started coming down to earth more often. Not for assignments. Not for reports. Just to see her.

He watched her smoking on her balcony, leaning on the railing, the smoke rings dissolving in the cool evening air. He watched her laughing with friends in a café, throwing her head back. He watched her cursing the rain once again, hiding under the awning and angrily shaking the drops off her sleeve. He learned that she loved classical literature and foreign languages.

And the strangest thing is that he found it... interesting.

Lucifer, the heir of Hell, who despised everything human, suddenly found himself waiting for these moments.

Two weeks have passed since his last visit.

When he returned, she was nowhere to be found. Not in the coffee shop, where someone else was now sitting at her favorite table, not in the park, not in that small apartment with red curtains, behind which it was now dark and deserted.

“Maybe she left,” he thought, not even allowing for another option.

And then he saw her at School.

Lucifer walked down the main corridor of the School, and somewhere in the distance, the laughter of Mimi and another girl echoed. And then, out of the corner of his eye, he caught sight of a familiar silhouette. The same facial expressions - a slight smile, a slightly raised eyebrow. The same gestures - a wave of the hand when she explained something. Even the same voice - ringing, slightly mocking.
