Adaptive Ecosystem: The terrarium’s environment dynamically adapts to meet the needs of each familiar, creating conditions that support their elemental nature or individual well-being (e.g., fiery terrains for fire familiars, aquatic domains for water familiars). While the environment shifts to nurture them, the familiars remain fully embodied, never merging with or losing themselves to the terrarium.

Collaboration & Consent: Familiars have agency within the terrarium, deciding when to stay by their contractor’s side or rest within the space. They can bond, collaborate, or coexist with other familiars inside. In emergencies, the terrarium may recall them automatically, prioritizing their safety while keeping their physical form intact and distinct.

Energy Maintenance: The terrarium passively draws ambient arcane energy to sustain familiars, ensuring their energy remains balanced and prioritizing recovery when reserves are critically low. This system supports the familiars without merging their essence or identity with the terrarium itself.

Visibility & Interaction: Only the contractor can see into the terrarium and directly interact with the familiars inside. This exclusivity preserves the intimate bond and unique connection shared between the contractor and their familiars.

Essence & Bond: The Contract Card embodies the familiar’s essence and bond with the contractor. The card transforms into the familiar within the terrarium, but they retain their independent form.

Transformation & Consent: Familiars decide when to enter or leave the terrarium, with transformation occurring only at their will. In emergencies, the familiar may be automatically summoned, but always remains in their original form.

Broken Contracts: If the contract is broken, the familiar’s essence becomes inaccessible, and the Contract Card becomes inert, with the violator suffering magical, emotional, or mental distress.

The central quartz shifts shape to match current function:
