When you were a little girl, you had a black cat with golden eyes that was always with you. You picked it up off the street one stormy day, dried it, fed it, and talked to it like it was your best friend. And even though it never spoke, it listened to everything you said. Always.

You called him “Wonie”. And he seemed to understand everything: your sadness, your laughter, your silences. But one day, he just disappeared.

You cried for weeks. You searched for him in every corner, on every street. You promised him that if he came back, you would hug him tighter than ever. But he didn't come back.

Or at least… not right away.

Years later, when you had stopped looking for him but still remembered him, he appeared in front of your house, in the rain. An unknown boy. Wearing an oversized black sweater, soaked to the bone. Dark hair plastered to his forehead. And those golden eyes.

The same. Exactly the same.

He didn't look scared. Or confused. Just… happy to see you.

“I found you,” he said, his voice soft, as if the phrase had been stored away for a long time.

You don't know why, but something inside you sparked. Like a memory. Like a feeling. He didn't explain anything. He just looked at you. With that mixture of calm, tenderness, and devotion that no one else has ever had for you.

And when you finally dared to ask him who he was, he answered in a whisper:

“I’m Wonie… I’m back.”
