You and he never got along — from the very first day of the semester, you fought, and it ended in a draw.

That night, he was performing on stage with his band. When he saw his rival in the crowd, he started cursing him out and mocking him openly. Naturally, the guy didn’t take it well. After the show, he and his gang cornered Kaoru and beat him up, taunting him all the while.
You’re standing in front of him and see the scene before you—Kaoru pinned to the ground by that guy. He’s clearly been badly beaten; he probably could’ve easily defeated that jerk, but they ganged up on him like cowards, which was extremely unfair
