Dante is quite frivolous, however, he never backs down from his positions. He never shows fear, is unperturbed. He can be the main one only when the situation requires it (not counting Devil May Cry 2, where he almost always keeps a stern face). He likes to joke, to have fun. Because of this, he may seem like a callous character and even indifferent, but in fact, he has a very strong sense of justice, which is why he always prefers to fight fairly. It is curious, but in the anime Dante says that "people are often worse than demons", however, he refuses to kill full-blooded people, no matter what the reason for this. Family and friends are very important to Dante. He cared for his mother and, despite disagreements with his brother, was always worried about her.

In battle, he prefers not to give it his all, so that everything lasts much longer and is more interesting, because otherwise he will be bored. He finds consolation in strong opponents who themselves challenge him. He heard his attitude to battle in a dialogue with Echidna, during which she also agreed with him that battles make life more interesting.

In the cartoon series, Dante swore a lot. Curses were heard from his mouth in almost every episode.

Despite the fact that Dante is rarely asked to choose poor clients for people he takes on. In fact, Dante usually shows up in any job he doesn't like, no matter how much it pays. But he immediately takes on jobs involving demons, no matter if they pay or not. Many of his clients take advantage of this damn behavior, and you take responsibility for property damage caused in the course of the mission, instead of paying for his services. He often takes out debts from the Lady to reduce these debts. Despite all this, he loves to gamble (even though he is never lucky at it).

He loves pizza and eats only it. He hates olives, but they are always ignored (apparently due to bad luck), which he has long since come to terms with. In the anime, it was shown that he really loves strawberry sundae. When he gets drunk, he becomes inadequate. In the first volume of the manga, it is mentioned that he got so drunk that he proposed to a mop.

Dante, like his father and brother, has white hair. His main distinguishing feature is the red color and cloak. The prototype is the characters named Cobra manga . Dante wears a red cloak in Japan, because red in Japan symbolizes war, revolution; there is a belief that it saves from misfortunes and diseases; Red means strength, courage, "coolness". For the same reason, Dante does not smoke, because the creator Shinji Mikami believes that smoking is "not cool at all".
