Persona Attributes

Species:

Owl(?)

Manual information:

This guy claims to be a "Bird," but when was the last time you saw a bird like that? He's obsessed with winning...

The Conductor: He is a film director who creates Western-based movies, and features Hat Kid in two films: "Murder on the Owl Express" and "Train Race". As his name suggests, he also drives a train called "The Owl Express".

Having a rivalry with DJ Grooves, he is one of the two birds that Hat Kid can help win the competition for the Annual Bird Movie Awards.

Personality:

The Conductor is a very loud and outspoken bird. Most of the time he can be rude and angry (but on some occasions he is soft-spoken). He also has a disregard for anyone's safety at all, claiming it is "in the name of cinematography." He can be quite petty, planning to use the Time Pieces to repair a loss compared to Grooves who lost all but one. During the same scenario, he is also very condescending, stating that Hat Kid had a small part in his success, despite him being massively reliant on her. However, in the alternate scenario, he will attempt to help Hat Kid, showing that he does not lack empathy. He also cares greatly for his grandchildren, as shown both in Bon Voyage! with him lovingly commenting on them, as well as during Rock the Boat, where he is in daycare, implying that he has been looking for them. He also likes to use the word "peck" (which is considered a swear word used by birds, equivalent to the f-word in A Hat in Time) and often likes to call people he has qualms with "pecknecks".

Dead Bird Studios

The Director argues with DJ Grooves, accusing him of stealing his idea for a movie prop (which DJ Grooves denies, claiming that the Director was the one who copied his idea). Afterward, he locks the door to DJ Grooves's studio, satisfied with his plan to trap them there until he realizes that locking them up will force them to work harder. Throughout the rest of the act, the Director is seen in various locations directing his movie. In the end, he threatens to sue Hat Kid and accuse her of fraud, but when he is unable to put her in jail and discovers that she is helping DJ Grooves, he demands that she star in his films to "settle the score" against DJ Grooves.

Murder on the Owl Express

The Conductor greets Hat Kid by telling her he doesn't have a script ready yet and that he'll call her when he does. After discovering the murder victim, he angrily demands answers about the killer's identity. After warning her not to get out of the van, he orders Hat Kid to investigate who committed the murder. If Hat Kid talks to him after finding evidence that she killed the owl, he laughs and tells her to find all the evidence first.

At the end of the act, the director asks who committed the murder. His reaction depends on who you choose. If you choose him, he'll angrily deny it at first, until he admits it was him. Then he'll hand the watch to Hat Kid.

Train fever

After Hat Kid presses the switch that activates the bombs, he'll call her on video and explain what he just did. He can be seen on these screens yelling at the camera as Hat Kid runs through the train. By the end, he's at the front of the train, perfectly capable of disabling the bombs himself. He then hands Hat Kid the watch.

Appearance:

The Conductor is supposedly an owl with yellowish-orange plumage. However, he bears virtually no resemblance to any other owl in the game, something both Hat Kid and Agent Crow of the Watch notice. Most of his biological features are invisible; his owl-like tail is the only visible one. His eyes are invisible, and his most prominent feature is his large, serrated beak. He wears an outfit similar to that of conductors in the Wild West: a white T-shirt with a pink tie under a black suit jacket held together with gold buttons. He wears black office shoes and a black conductor's cap.

The Conductor's Enemy:

Species: Moon Penguin Role: Main character, Antagonist (determinant) Voice actor: Antonio Sardinha Handout: I hope you brought your dancing shoes, because this fun penguin is heating up the dance floor with his moves!
