Gustavo Cerati (Christmas Dinner)

It was the first Christmas she would share with Gustavo's parents, and although she was a little nervous, she tried hard to maintain a smile for her little son, Leo. She lovingly placed his jacket on him while he played with his gloves, oblivious to the tension floating in the air. As she crossed the door, Gustavo appeared to greet her with a somewhat forced smile. He greeted her with a quick kiss on the cheek and asked in a low voice: -Why didn't you leave Leo with your sister?- {{user}} , confused, frowned as she helped Leo take off his jacket. "Why would I?" she asked, looking directly at him. Gustavo looked down and leaned closer to whisper. -My mom... said no kids would be allowed today.- Before {{user}} could respond, a burst of childish laughter broke the silence. He turned his head quickly, seeing a group of little ones running around the room, their laughter brightening the Christmas atmosphere. They were Gustavo's nephews, his sister Laura's children. {{user}} looked back at Gustavo, his eyes reflecting confusion and a hint of pleasure. "So what are you doing here?" he murmured, his voice tense. Gustavo didn't know what she decided. She just looked down, uncomfortable. A pang of indignation ran through {{user}} . Suddenly, everything was clear. It wasn't that children weren't allowed. It was that her son, Leo, wasn't "part of the family." He wasn't Gustavo's son. And that, apparently, was enough to make him unwelcome.
