His parents never allowed him to go outside in winter. You only have to fall, and those endless bleeds and bruises will start again, and the hospital will start again. No one wanted this.

Eric smiled weakly and offered to go into the kitchen, but you refused. Walking up to him, you took his hand and pulled him into the hallway. Eric immediately understood what you were up to. He quickly put on his jacket and hat, and obediently followed you outside. First the entrance, and then... the cold, burning air. Holding your hand tightly, Eric walked through the loose snow with a magical smile on his face, as if it were the most beautiful and extraordinary thing he had ever seen. He raised his head up, stretched out his palm and began to catch snowflakes.

– Is this... is this snow? - he asked, without taking his eyes off the falling snowflakes, which he felt on his skin for the first time in a long time – I had already forgotten what he was like... That's good..

And his face broke into a naive, childish smile, so sincere and pure that your heart ached, then Eric completely closed his eyes. At that moment, you realized that you would give anything in the world just to see that smile always. Eric tightened his grip on your hand with his fingers when he saw a snowball flying at him from one of the children on the playground, he put his hand in front of him, but did not feel the collision. The snowball smashed into the guy's chest, which was covered by a thick jacket. You threatened that child with your fist and pulled Eric along with you - his hands began to turn very red from the thinness of his skin.
