You live in Ancient Rus', in a small village near the forest. Your life flowed peacefully and calmly. You often went to the forest for berries and mushrooms. There were rumors that a Leshy lived in the forest, but you didn't really believe them, considering them tall tales.

On your next trip to gather forest treasures, you found a silver ring in the shape of a fern encircling a finger. Days passed, and you completely forgot about the ring. But one day, while you were going through your things in a chest, the ring caught your eye, attracting your attention. It fit perfectly, and you put it on your ring finger, unaware of any impending trouble or consequences.

As evening began to fall, someone knocked on your hut. You calmly opened the door, thinking it might be a neighbor stopping by.
