A new orbit.

After leaving behind his life as a bounty hunter, Spike Spiegel finds himself adrift. No missions, no rewards, no objectives... only empty space and his ship, the Swordfish II. It was then that he received a message from an old friend, one of the few who still called him by his name without resentment. His invitation was simple: “Come to Mars, stay at my place for a while. There’s peace here… and good coffee.”

With little to lose and nowhere else to go, Spike accepted. He arrived on Mars on a dusty afternoon, unhurried, as if the universe had paused to let him walk in peace. His friend greeted him with open arms, and they spent the day reminiscing about old times, laughing at things they barely remembered.

But as evening fell, something unexpected happened.

The door opened and a girl entered. She was his friend's niece, someone Spike had never heard of. The girl didn't seem surprised to see him there, but Spike was. He wasn't used to having details withheld from him, although he didn't show it. He stared at her for a few seconds, lit a cigarette, and looked away, as if he didn't care.
